I am from Punjab, India. There are some facts about Punjab :

1. Punjab is mostly known as the land of Sikhism.
2. 60% population of Punjab is of Sikh                           Community.
3. High Court of Punjab in Chandigarh is also the         High Court of Haryana state and the union               territory of Chandigarh.
4. Main source of income here is Agriculture. 84%       of land is under cultivation.
5. The word Punjab is derived from two words -
    'Punj'  means five and 'aab' means water.
6. Ludhiana and Amritsar are the largest cities of       Punjab.
7. Amritsar is one of the major tourist                             destinations of India attracting more tourist than     Taj Mahal.
8. State bird is Baaz (Hawk) and State animal is           black buck.
9. Literacy rate of Punjab is 77%.
10. Bhangra and Gidhha are the traditional dance       forms of Punjab.
